1. Overview of the institution
In their 40th Year, Deakin University has over 47,000 students, of whom 17% are international students. Over the years, the university has strengthened its position through mergers and alliances with partners that are in line with their mission and vision. In 2014, Deakin has been awarded Premier's Award for International Education Provider of the Year for its overall commitment to international engagement. They have also received several awards for student satisfaction and leading the way for Student Learning.
2. Location and facilities
Deakin has four campuses that have their own unique study environment: the Melbourne Burwood Campus, Geelong Waterfront Campus, Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus and Warrnabool Campus.
Melbourne Burwood Campus has innovative architecture, wireless hotspots and wide open spaces for both undergraduate and post-graduate students. Geelong Waterfront Campus is located in the central business district of Geelong. Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus is home to the technology precinct of the university. It is located at the west of Geelong. Warrnambool Campus is located on the banks of Hopkins River.
Every campus has its own medical facilities alongside the fitness and recreation centres. Deakin University has made sure they provide their students with counselling services if required. The student welfare is the university’s top priority.
