IFNMU was established in 1945. It is located in Galyskastreet 2, 76018 Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine.

University consists of 12 hospitals and clinics. It is one of the few Universities designated as a "National Medical University" by the Government of Ukraine. It is member of association of universities, European association of universities, World Health Organization, and other international organizations.

About 4000+ foreign students are studying from all over the world including USA, Western Europe,  Australia, Africa, India and other parts of Asia. University offers a wide infrastructure containing 48 departments.

IFNMU Library is a recipient of prize (2nd position) of All Ukrainian Contest "Library of the year 2009" We introducing new ways of education to improve student learning by bedside teaching.

Professional Training:

Professional training of doctors performed in 51 departments. The training process is carried out by 73 (phd) doctors and 231 candidates of sciences. Among university scientists 6 academicians, 6 Honoured Scientists of Ukraine, 2 Honoured workers of higher education of Ukraine, two Laureates of State Prize of Ukraine.
