1. Overview of the institution
Established in 1870, Otago Polytechnic is a public New Zealand tertiary education institute, centred in Dunedinwith campuses in Cromwell and Auckland. 2. Location and facilities
The main Campus is located in Dunedin, with a boutique Campus in Central Otago and an international Campus in Auckland.
Dunedin
Located in the lower South Island, Dunedin is one of the most popular student cities in New Zealand. The majority of Otago Polytechnic’s programmes are available here in their large, modern Campus. In conjunction with Otago University the Polytechnic students have access to UNIPOL Recreation Centre and the Robertson Library.
Central Otago
Located in the central area of the South Island, Central Otago is one of the most beautiful and exciting destinations in all of New Zealand.
Auckland
Auckland is located on the North Island and is the country’s largest city and centre of business and industry. The campus currently delivers English language and business courses to international students.
Facilities include: a new well-resourced library, on-campus student health services, gym membership and recreational services, on campus IT store and services, Learning Centre, counselling services and full international students support services.

Nationally ranked at the top of New Zealand’s ITP sector in Design, Nursing, Visual Arts and Information Technology (PBRF 2006)
The New Zealand Government’s Tertiary Education Commission ranked them:
Top in New Zealand polytechnic sector for qualification completions (2011, 2012)
Top equal in New Zealand polytechnic sector for course completions (2012).
NZQA’s External Evaluation and Review in 2011 gave them the highest possible rating: "highly confident" in educational performance, and "highly confident" in their ability to assess their own performance.
