When it comes to studying at a post-secondary level, there is a wealth of resources available to aid in financial compensation. Seeing as studying at this level can become quite expensive rather quickly, educational grants and scholarships are made available to eligible students. Still, these financial resources are made available in different forms. From interest-free loans, to funding made available through government resources, many options are available to students in need of help with monetary expenses.
Such resources are available to students studying in a college program, university, and postgraduate degree programs. Many developed countries make use of departments within the government itself to dole out such grants and scholarships. However, in less developed countries this framework does not exist and so separate organisations exist to provide educational grants to those in need. However, to become eligible for such resources there is a pre-determined criterion the student must meet. Still, such resources make it possible for international students to do away with at least a part of the stress associated with studying.
“Study in Ukraine” offer students a great deal of scholarships each and every year. However, these scholarships are reserved for those students who truly need and deserve it. Students who regularly apply themselves and work hard will find that they are eligible for such scholarships.
Each year, 40 students are chosen to receive $1,000 scholarships. The competition for earning such scholarships is stiff as they are only awarded to students who demonstrate an aptitude for higher learning. However, most scholarships are especially reserved for international students since students from the Ukraine normally finance their stay on their own.

Scholarships are not loans and do not need to be paid back. Scholarships can be awarded for many reasons, from excelling in academia, to supreme performance in athletics. Usually, scholarship awards reflect the criteria of the donor or founder of the award.

Scholarships in this category are also awarded based on the student’s extracurricular activities and involvement in the community. The most common of merit-based scholarships are awarded based on academic achievements and scores on standardised tests.
Athletic (20 Scholarships): This type of scholarship is awarded solely based on students’ achievements in athletics.
Career-Specific (20 Scholarships): These scholarships are awarded based upon the students chosen career path. Scholarships of the highest amount are generally awarded to students who plan to work in high-need areas, such as education and nursing.
College-Specific (80 Scholarships): College-specific scholarships are often regarded as the scholarships that are the most difficult to attain as they are only offered to the most highly qualified of applicants. These scholarships are based on academic and personal achievements, and usually result in either reduced tuition rates, or a “full-ride” to college.
