Cost of living
Student need to have about $1200-$1500 per year avaliable, above their education fee, to live comfortably in Ukraine while studying here. If you are a conservative person, it's enough for you, because living cost in Ukraine is much cheaper then in other European countries. But different students have different lifestyle, so you may need much more money.
Weather conditions and clothes
Temperature in summer can be as hot as 35°C, but in winter it is cold and may reach -20°C and even lower. So it's better for you to arrive here equipped with warm clothes for temperatures from -20°C to +5°C. Take along your winter clothes, if you have them. But if not, you'll have to buy them here. Fortunately, they are not very expensive.
Student's stationary
Student's stationary have extremely low price. Bundle of 500 rough papers costs 6$. Pens, pensils, copybooks are really cheap.
Books for studying
The some text books are will be provided by University Library and some you better to buy. It is start from 50$ for a book.
You can take most of books to study at the library of your University, but we can say you exactly that you'll need to buy at least some of books. Their price starts from 30$ for one book.
Clothes
Jeans cost 30-100$, shirts cost 10-40$, T-Shirts are about 10-40$. Jackets and winter clothes are more expensive, about 100-300$.
Food
Food is really cheap here in Ukraine. If you have 1$, you can buy 1-2 kg of potatoes or onions, or 1 liter of milk or yoghurt.
Travelling through the city
If you have Travel Pass, you can use government transport, such as subway, trolley bus and tram, for free. For students its price is about 20$ for one month, which is 50 % of the fuul cost.
Travelling through the country
Ticket in trains and intercity buses is cheap, for example one-way ticket to Kyiv-Crimea train costs $25, while the distance is about 800km.
