When only fewer days left for Denmark election campaign, industry leaders again warn politicians that the country is in dire need of foreigners in various sectors. According to the sources, immigrants play a major role in Denmark’s labour force.
During this high election period, some leading parties are against immigration, however, Danish industry leaders notified that the country simply cannot get by without overseas employees.
According to the Confederation of Danish Industry, existing skilled Danes are not sufficient to address the skill shortages and growing future needs of the country. Moreover, some industries are already become completely dependent on the knack to bring in skilled employees from abroad.
The deputy director of Danish Industry, Steen Nielsen, said that there is no doubt that Danish industries need skilled immigrants to work and improve their marketing.
At present, there are only fewer Danes to meet the increasing skill shortages in the country and thus, the industries need people from various countries to solve this issue.
Steen Nielsen said that, when there is a huge demand for highly skilled foreigners in fields like Engineers, IT professionals, Danish firms are still depending on the foreigners even to fill manual labour jobs.
Citing the transport, cleaning and agriculture sectors, he said that one cannot run the business if the foreigners are not available. Apparently, skilled immigrants are first and foremost gain for Denmark.
Presumably, foreigners who arrive in Denmark to undertake employment never bring Denmark down but, they elevate its position in this competitive world.
Nielsen again reiterated that overseas nationals are vital for country’s future.
